Michael's Ex-wife was his college sweetheart. Although deep down inside she still loves him, she resents the fact that Michael did not take the extra initiative to provide her with a more suitable life style. Michael was content to live a more adventurous life not considering their financial future. This lack of security began to breakdown their marriage- eventually leading to their divorce. The tension between them arises from old wounds, misunderstanding, and stubbornness. She is hard on him not out of meanness but as a result of her blind desire for him to change and the frustration she experiences knowing he never will. Michael is clueless to this, and thinks she is a "witch" at times. Her relationship with her fiancée is not all it's cracked up to be, but she is aging and must consider her daughter's future.
